Job Description

OWKIN is seeking a VP Business Development pharma to join our fast-growing and dynamic US team.

About the role:
Owkin is a mission-driven business committed to using ground-breaking, federated AI and machine learning to fundamentally improve pharmaceutical R&D.
Owkin has significant European connections/access in the Biopharmaceutical market, as well as European sales personnel. As we grow our activities in the US, a senior sales lead is critical to scaling our commercial performance of the businesses to create new leads and close deals on this market, and actively participate in the product strategy of the company.

Missions:

  • To engage major pharmaceutical clients across multiple stakeholding groups from global and therapeutic leadership to bioinformatics, IT and purchasing, to secure strategic new business while penetrating existing account relationships.
  • To engage the market with a ground-breaking concept which is pushing the current frameworks and will drive significant changes in clinical processes.
  • To close high value and complex technology and/or service sales.
  • To play a significant role in product development, pricing, and defining the market positioning
  • To build, lead and develop top performing sales teams in Europe and North America to deliver rapid and consistent sales growth.

Preferred Experience

Qualifications:

  • Proven sales leadership professional who will be able to contribute effectively to this process, as well as take global responsibility for the sales numbers.
  • Around 15+ years of commercial experience, 10+ years in sales and circa 5 or more years in sales management.
  • Strong proven relationships with Pharmaceutical executives across the multiple stakeholder groups are required.
  • Player captain who will sell directly, as well as lead a small team.
  • Proven background in securing strategic new business as well as penetrating existing account relationships.
  • Proven sales success in closing high value and complex technology and/or consulting and/or service sales in the clinical development.
  • Structured, rigorous and consistent sales leader with track record of building and leading top performing sales teams which have delivered rapid and consistent sales growth.
  • Ideally will have experience of working in a PE or VC backed business supporting it to scale.
  • Evidence of leadership, creativity, integrity, initiative, and problem solving
  • Evidence of the ability to plan and implement
  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
