Job Description

We are looking for two new interns in the radiology and histopathology groups at Owkin Lab in Paris.

Our two imaging groups are interdisciplinary teams composed of data scientists and medical doctors, working together to bring the latest tools of machine learning and deep learning to advance medical research and drug development.

Our projects involve a wide variety of medical images (microscope slides, CT, MRI, PET, ultrasound) and predictive tasks (classification, segmentation, registration, survival analysis). We are interested in building new deep learning algorithms tailored to medical imaging, and investigate research topics such as transfer learning, longitudinale models, multimodal integration or domain adaptation.

As an intern, you will handle your own research project with one of our team members and may be involved in one of our project with medical institutes or pharma company (Europe or US).

Preferred Experience

We are looking for someone:

  • Currently finishing a MS in machine learning, biomedical imaging, or an associated field
  • Motivation to work at the intersection of healthcare and AI
  • Knowledge and familiarity with machine learning and computer vision algorithms
  • Experience in Linux/Unix-like environments and Python
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (Tensorflow, PyTorch, etc.)
  • Fluent in English

Pluses :

  • Participation in data science projects and competitions
  • Contribution to publications in conferences and journals (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, JASA, etc.)
  • Experience with whole slide images and openslide library
  • Experience with medical imaging data (DICOM management, medical image processing)
  • Experience with git
